Agents for Financial Services Anthropic

Anthropic has announced the launch of ten new agent templates designed to streamline some of the most labor-intensive tasks in financial services, including the creation of pitchbooks, screening of KYC files, and the monthly financial close process. These templates are available as plugins for Claude Cowork and Claude Code, and as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents, allowing financial teams to deploy powerful AI tools in a matter of days.

The integration of these AI agents into daily financial operations is further enhanced through Claude’s compatibility with Microsoft 365. New add-ins for Microsoft applications like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook (anticipated soon) enable seamless data and context transfer across these platforms. This means that work initiated in one application, such as data modeling in Excel, can be effortlessly completed in another, like a presentation in PowerPoint, without the need to duplicate explanations or transfer data manually.

To enrich the functionality of these AI agents, Anthropic is expanding its partner ecosystem by introducing new connectors and an MCP app, which embeds a provider’s tools directly into Claude. These connectors provide regulated, real-time access to necessary data, ensuring that Claude’s agents can leverage current, accurate information for financial analyses and decision-making processes.

The agents’ performance is optimized when used with Claude Opus 4.7, the latest state-of-the-art version tailored for financial tasks. This version leads the industry in performance, scoring 64.37% on Vals AI’s Finance Agent benchmark, making it a robust choice for financial institutions looking to automate complex tasks.

Each agent template consists of a reference architecture that includes three main components: skills, which encapsulate the required instructions and knowledge for specific tasks; connectors, which provide controlled access to relevant data; and subagents, specialized Claude models that handle particular sub-tasks like comparable selection or methodology reviews. These templates can be customized according to a firm’s unique needs, including their modeling conventions, risk policies, and approval processes.

The agents offer versatile deployment options. They can be integrated directly into desktop software via Claude Cowork or Claude Code, where they assist analysts with hands-on tasks like compiling comparative models or drafting documents. Alternatively, the agents can operate autonomously across broader workflows or scheduled operations on the Claude Platform, characterized by robust management features such as credential storage, comprehensive audit logs, and adjustable permissions.

In all deployment scenarios, there is a strong emphasis on compliance and oversight, with capabilities in place for reviewing and approving all AI-generated work before it is finalized or shared. This maintains professional standards and ensures accuracy.

Beyond the desktop, Claude’s capabilities are broad, spanning several core office applications. In Outlook, Claude functions almost as an executive assistant, managing emails and scheduling; in Excel, it performs complex data analysis and audits; in PowerPoint, it creates dynamic presentations linked to live data; and in Word, it customizes documents to align with firm-specific templates.

Claude’s ability to connect to numerous data sources is critical. It integrates with leading market data services and financial systems, including FactSet, MSCI, and internal client databases, to ensure that its outputs are based on up-to-date and comprehensive information. This is further enhanced by new connectors and an MCP app that integrates custom interactive UIs within Claude, such as the newly launched MCP app by Moody’s, which provides access to proprietary credit ratings and data.

These new agents and capabilities are now available on Anthropic’s financial services marketplace and can be accessed through various paid plans. Additionally, the new offerings emphasize Claude’s adaptability and the company’s commitment to enhancing financial workflows through advanced AI solutions. Users interested in seeing these new tools in action can attend live-streamed events and webinars hosted by Anthropic that provide practical insights into the adoption and utilization of these advanced solutions.

Furthermore, Anthropic has announced a partnership with SpaceX to expand Claude’s computing capacity, ensuring its services remain robust and responsive. For organizations in the financial sector looking to enhance efficiency and productivity through technology, these new solutions from Anthropic represent a significant step forward.
